Recycle yard signs & donate pumpkins/hay

Yard Sign Recycling

The city is providing a drop off location for corrugated plastic and plastic bag yard signs, and metal stands.  See info on this website.  To help neighbors recycle, the HPCC is providing two locations in the neighborhood where you can drop your signs and stands by Dec 1 and we will bring them to be recycled (you can bring them yourself to 3001 Railroad St Office through Dec 6 during business hours).  

  • 5500 Bryant Street:  leave on patio to the right of the entrance
  • 1315 N. Sheridan Ave:  leave in the boxes on the porch

Pumpkins & Hay

Allegheny Goatscape will accept pumpkins and other squash that are not moldy, rotten, or painted, and hay if it’s still in bales.  They have two drop off locations:

PWSA – now Pittsburgh Water – returns to provide updates on projects in the community and other current initiatives, including:

  • The reinvestment of ratepayer dollars back into our water system
  • Ongoing projects to improve water reliability and protect public health  
  • Expanded Customer Assistance Programs  
  • Changes to your 2024 bill 

Representatives from our PGH2O Cares team will be on-site to answer questions about our financial assistance programs. If you qualify, they can enroll you into our programs on the spot.

Household Chemical Collection Event – Nov 9th

Pennsylvania Resources Council is holding a Household Chemical Collection Event at The Hazelwood Green this Saturday, Nov 9th! Dispose of items such as paint, vapes/e-cigarettes, cleaning products, yard care chemicals, automotive fluids, and many other things.

Important Note: This event requires requires pre-registration to control the flow of traffic, which ensures an efficient and safe experience for the public, our staff, and recycling partners..
