The HPCC Kids Committee presents: Welcome Fall Celebration!
Saturday, September 6th, 2025
10am-12pm
Super Playground in Highland Park
This month’s community meeting will be held this Thursday August 21st, from 7-8 pm at St. Andrews Episcopal Church (5801 Hampton St)!
We will be talking about several community topics, including:
We look forward to seeing you there!
Join us for a festive Fourth of July celebration just for kids!
Bring your bikes, scooters, and wagons to decorate and show off in a joyful parade around the fountain. Stick around for face painting, chalk art, bracelet making, and fun water play to keep cool. It’s a morning of creativity, celebration, and summer fun! Sign up here if you plan to join us.
Thank you to Periwinkle Fox for sponsoring face painting; the PGH Park Rangers for joining; and to Scout Pack 343 for supporting our community! The Scouts will also be collecting any flags in need of a formal retirement; feel free to bring with you to the July 4th event.

As a result of our 80 for 80 fundraising campaign, HPCC is replacing the banners on Bryant Street – and we want your input! These banners will hang on Bryant Street for the next 10+ years, and we want them to reflect the spirit of our neighborhood.
If you have a moment, please take a look at the image below and submit a response to our survey. Here is a direct link to the survey, which has the same image for reference. The survey will remain open through July 13th.

This month’s regularly scheduled meeting falls on Juneteenth, so our June Community Meeting will be the day before: Wednesday, June 18th, 7 pm, at St. Andrew’s Church (Brooks Hall).
This is a special meeting: Once a year, the board committees officially report out – and this year there is MUCH news! One big announcement is a change in officers: Stephanie Walsh (President) and Judy Beck (Secretary) are stepping down after 8 and 6 years (respectively) as officers. Please come! There will be pizza & cake and you can celebrate Stephanie & Judy’s service, welcome our new officers and board members, and learn more about how the HPCC has been – and plans to continue – serving our wonderful neighborhood!

The Board would like to thank our friends and neighbors who are stepping down from the board this year: Judy Beck (Secretary), and Rebecca Maclean and Andrew Bell (Directors). Also – thank you to all of our returning board Directors: Jack Brice, Amanda Crossland, Beth Hutton, Laura Myers, and Kelly Vitti. Stephanie Walsh, who is stepping down as President, will remain on the board as a Director.
Proposed By-law Changes:
The HPCC is a 501(c)(3) and is governed by by-laws that have been approved by its members. This year, the Board is proposing several changes to the by-laws that members will be asked to vote on. You can read the by-laws and see the proposed revisions in detail here.
The proposed changes are noted in striked text, ALL CAPS (for new text), and highlighted to make them easy to find.
