Zone 5 Citizens Public Safety Council, October 9th

The Zone 5 Citizens Public Safety Council meets on the second Tuesday of every month (except August and December) at 7:00pm at the Union Project at 801 N. Negley Ave. (intersection with Stanton Ave.)

Next Meeting – October
Our next meeting will be on Tuesday, October 9th at 7pm at the Union Project. As usual, we will talk about public safety trends and incidents in Zone 5. We will also see if any questions have come up regarding blockwatches following last month’s presentation on Blockwatch in a Box.

Guest Speaker: Ed McAllister, Project Chief within the Bureau of Building Inspection (BBI), will give an overview of the department; how BBI receives, investigates, and processes building code violation complaints; and take your questions.

The Zone 3 Citizens Public Safety Council is organizing a Citywide Public Safety Meeting this month. Stay tuned for additional details.

The Director of Public Safety has set this year’s Halloween hours as 5:30pm – 7:30pm on Wednesday, October 31st.

HPCC Proposed Revisions to By-Laws and Articles of Incorporation Vote October 18th, 2012

The Highland Park Community Council (HPCC) is proposing the following amendments to both:

1. The Highland Park Community Council, Inc. BY-LAWS

2. The HPCC Articles of Incorporation

These amendments were presented to the membership at the September 19, 2012 Annual meeting of HPCC and have been revised as noted in the attached. The revised amendments will be voted on at the October 18, 2012 HPCC Meeting.

HPCC Monthly Meeting, September 20th

Please join us Thursday, Sept 20th at 7 PM at St. Andrew’s Church for the next monthly Highland Park Community Council meeting. This month, we will be having an HPCC-wide vote for new Directors and new Board members for 2012-2013; we will have preview of some changes to the HPCC by-laws, which are needed to support our transition to becoming a 501(c)3 and which will formally voted on during our October meeting; and we will be reviewing HPCC’s finances from our 2011-2012 fiscal year. We are also tentatively slated to have City Councilman Patrick Dowd come and speak with us regarding a couple of issues related to our community and its priorities. We look forward to seeing you there!
