“Vintage senior community center at 401 N. Highland Ave. in East Liberty (across from The Home Depot) invites you to an OPEN HOUSE on Thursday, August 28. There will be a Special Program at 10 a.m. followed by Information Tables from 11 a.m. – 1 p.m. Complementary bag lunches are available for those who RSVP by August 15 at (412) 361-5003. Cinema in the Park on 7/21: Big Miracle

Grab a blanket and head out for an unforgettable evening of free cinema under the stars. Citipark’s Cinema in the Park features family friendly movies on the third Monday of each month this summer. Shows start at dusk and will include:

Office of Public Art Tour in Highland Park: July 11th

Meeting location: Entrance of Highland Park at the corner of Lake Drive and Stanton Avenue
Notes: Tour happens rain or shine, but thunder and lightning will cancel the tour.

Picnic with the Office of Public Art! Learn about the Guiseppe Moretti sculptures that flank the entrances to Highland Park,Horses and Welcome. Bring your picnic snacks, and we will picnic in the park after the tour. We will provide the dessert.

HPCC July 4th Parade for Kids

4th of JulyThe Highland Park Community Council Kids’ Committee is hosting its annual 4th of July Parade. Kids of all ages are invited to decorate their bicycle and then show off their handy work with a parade around the fountain.

When: July 4 at 10 a.m.
Where: Highland Park — meet near the fountain

Supplies to decorate bikes, tricycles, wagons and anything else on wheels will be provided, as well as balloons and snacks.

Volunteers to help the little ones with decorations and to blow up balloons are needed. We are also accepting donations of red, white and blue decorations for the children to use to decorate their bikes. Please contact Teri Rucker via e-mail or at 412-482-2533 if you are interested in volunteering or have something to donate. Supplies also can be dropped off at the side porch of 5914 Wellesley Ave.
