June 16 HPCC meeting with Mary Withrow

Please join us for our HPCC Monthly Meeting on Thursday, June 16th at 7pm at St. Andrew’s Church. All are welcome to attend.

In honor of the opening of our new off-leash exercise area, our guest speaker will be Mary Kennedy Withrow, Shelter Director & Director of Government and Community Relations for the Western PA Humane Society.

Ms. Withrow will share information on recent PA pet legislation and what you can do when you see an animal in trouble. She will also discuss how we can make the Highland Park off-leash exercise area the best one in the city!

Off Leash Dog Area is Open

dogThe OLEA is officially open as of this morning. Thanks for your patience during the selection and construction of the OLEA. Please follow the rules that are posted, clean-up after your pets and yourself and play well with others.

Todd Shirley, neighbor, dog owner and HPCC Board Member is the newly appointed head of the HPCC OLEA Committee. If you are interested in participating on the committee, please email Todd at todd@shirbert.com.

About the Concert

This summer you can once again relax on the lawn at Highland Park to the sounds of jazz performed by Pittsburgh’s finest musicians. Residents of the tri-state area look forward to this showcase of the area’s extraordinary jazz talent at the ever-popular Reservoir of Jazz series.

The afternoon will feature: Food, Music, Displays/Demonstrations by PGH SWAT, Bomb Squad, K-9 Unit, Traffic (Motorcycles), as well as Fire and EMS vehicles. Paramedics will also be training the community in CPR!  The Zone 5 Police Station is at 1401 Washington Blvd.
