NOTICE NEW LOCATION:  St. Andrew’s Church, 5801 Hampton Street, center building, basement meeting hall

We heard you, and by popular demand, we’re returning to in-person meetings through the fall. Come join us for pizza and an update on all the great things your HPCC has been doing for the community in the past year!  In addition to our monthly report from Zone 5, the agenda will include updates from the HPCC’s Membership, Finance, Children’s, and Park Committees, and our Senior Online Services (SOS) program.

We’ll also be voting on – and you can meet and greet! – the following slate of officers and new board members:

Rededication of Peabody Memorial to Soldiers at Obama Academy, Thursday, 11 am

In honor of Memorial Day, Preservation Pittsburgh and PPS have invited the community to a Centennial Celebration & Unveiling of the Restored Peabody Memorial to Soldiers and the New Obama Academy School Quad.

This Memorial, the most significant piece of art at a Pittsburgh Public School, has been preserved and restored for the next generation thanks to countless partners.  Join Obama Academy as the students of today honor those who served in the First World War and celebrate the long history of their school.  This occasion is marked with a new public space and the grand debut of the Barack Obama Academy of International Studies Alma Mater.

This Sunday: HPCC Neighborhood Yard Sale & Bryant Street Festival

This Sunday, the biggest neighborhood yard sale in the city & our neighborhood street fair return – this year, with bigger bands and additional food trucks! 

9:00  Yard Sale official starting time.  Listings will be made available on our website and in hard copy (limited).

11:30  Bryant Street Festival Kick-off

Food trucks will be located on Bryant Street between N. St. Clair Street and N. Euclid Street, including:

  • El Chucho Pgh – Guatemalan Street Food and comfort food with a Twist 
  • Barbirou Falafel 
  • South Side BBQ company
  • Pie Bird Pittsburgh 
  • Kettle Corn Popcorn

Music – This year, the stage is moving onto N. Euclid Street next to the Bryant Street Parklet.

The Flea Market will still be located at the Highland Ave end of Bryant Street.

  • This property is the lot between Jeffrey Smith Salon and Anna Skin Care. The new property owner and developer, Arun Gupta (of Gupta Properties) and architect Matt Diersen (of Highland Park’s Midpoint Architects), will give a presentation about their proposed mix-used development for the site, which includes first floor retail and condos on the upper two floors.
