HPCC Spring Fling!

The Highland Park Community Council is throwing a neighborhood picnic! On Thursday, May 16 neighborhood residents are invited to come, relax, and meet their neighbors at this free, fun event!  You’ll find:
• Free food & refreshments, including a cookie table!
• Beer tasting for adults
• Door prizes
• Kids activities
• Trivia
• Music
The picnic will run from 5 – 9 pm at the Super Playground / Maple Shelter in Highland Park.

Meet the Candidates! Thur, April 18

We vote twice a year, every year!  With the primary election coming up on May 21, the HPCC is proud to be hosting a candidate forum at our April meeting.  Hear from:

District 7 City Council Candidates

  • Deb Gross (D)
  • Deidre Kane (D)

District 2 School Board Candidates:  

  • Dave Atkinson (D)
  • Nosakhere Griffin-El (D)
  • Kirk Rys (D & R)
  • Devon Taliaferro (D)

County Council At-Large Candidate:

  • Bethany Hallum (D)

NOTE:  Monday, April 22 is the last day you can register to vote before the primary.  For information on how to register, click here or call the County Elections Division at (412) 350-4500.

The HPCC meeting will begin at 7 pm at St. Andrew’s Church, Thursday April 18.  There will be free pizza and childcare.  Please feel free to forward this information to others who may be interested in hearing from the candidates.

Prior to the candidate Forum, representatives from Girls Hope will be on hand to give a presentation and answer questions about their plans to open a new home in Highland Park. More info on this issue can be found in the March HPCC Newsletter.

Highland Park Yard Sale – June 2nd

Bryant Street Festival

The annual Highland Park Yard Sale and Bryant Street Festival will once again be held on Sunday, June 2nd!

The festivities begin at 9 a.m., when over a hundred Highland Park homes will set up tables and offer items for sale to thousands of bargain hunters walking through the neighborhood. Starting at noon, the Bryant Street Festival will provide an afternoon of family friendly fun with food, music, and activities. Registration for the Yard Sale is now closed.
