At the August 19 HPCC Community Meeting, Adam McCullouch of D’Appolonia Engineering and Cas Pellegrini and Mark DePasquale of the City’s Department of Public Works presented a proposal to restore the historic stone bridge in Highland Park on Reservoir Drive. See link below for slideshow.
The stonework was disassembled several years ago and the site left “on hold”, with temporary barricades and cordoned-off piles of stone. The project would restore the stone architecture of the bridge, add safety features and amenities, and address drainage problems in that location, all of which would benefit park users. While the HPCC and meeting attendees were supportive of the plan overall, concerns were raised about a few elements of the project including a new path, physical barriers on the bridge, and traffic impacts during the project. The HPCC submitted a request for mitigation around these issues.
