(Afterwards, we’ll walk over to Park Place Pub, 5719 Bryant St. for some solar socializing)

A brief presentation about the benefits of solar and explanation about how you can go solar through the Solarize Allegheny campaign will be offered, along with refreshments. The pre-qualified solar installers will be on hand to tell you if your home is a good candidate for solar. In addition, Dollar Bank representatives will be available to explain financing options. If you bring a copy of your electric bill, you can sign up for a solar quote at the event.

Solarize F-HP-M is a local campaign under the Solarize Allegheny umbrella – a project funded by the Heinz Endowments and managed by non-profit organization SmartPower – to double the amount of solar energy throughout Allegheny County over two years. F-HP-M is one of three communities that will host the campaign over the next 16 weeks. In the first phase of the projects this spring, four other communities participated and Point Breeze is now the leading solar neighborhood in the City of Pittsburgh with 16 solar installations. Through Solarize F-HP-M residents and businesses will have the opportunity to learn more about the benefits of solar energy through a robust on-the-ground outreach campaign that connects you directly to local, pre-screened, qualified solar installers who will offer competitive bids, guidance and assistance to go solar – making the process simple and affordable.

The price of solar has dropped dramatically over the past several years, so that solar is now as affordable as your monthly electric bill. There’s even a 0% interest loan program through the Pittsburgh Urban Redevelopment Authority for people with qualifying incomes that helps people to go solar with no upfront costs and saves them money every month on utility bills.

Come and find out why Solar Makes Sense for Friendship-Highland Park-Morningside – and for your home or business!
